Komera is a local Rwandan NGO supported by Silent Work, a Dutch NGO. Komera is a church-run project managed legally by the Nyundo Diocese of the Catholic Church of Rwanda. Silent Work, the Dutch NGO, supports Komera by contributing systematically to its regular expenses, to its technical support, and to its fundraising activities.
Silent Work was established by Woodi Wiljo Oosterom who had implemented and managed a programme of care based on the Total Communication approach in Middenbeemster in the Netherlands. The objective of the collaboration between Komera and Silent Work is to create a centre of professional expertise for handicapped, traumatized and mentally disabled children in Rwanda.
