VeldhovenGroup

The VeldhovenGroup is a multinational company designing and marketing three premium fashion brands: the successful women’s casual fashion collection Sandwich, the exclusive women’s designer collection Stills and the children brand NO-NONSENSE. The company was founded in 1950 as an agency; they started their wholesale activities from 1970 onwards. In 1980 the group started producing their own designs and went international a few years after introducing successfully their own label ‘Sandwich’ in the Netherlands. The group has now developed into a multinational with sales activities in 25 different countries with over 4.000 points of distribution. In 1998 the first ‘Sandwich Shop’ was opened and many followed after that partly group-owned and partly as franchise operation.

In Calcutta, over 100,000 children don’t have roofs over their heads. Particularly the girls are at high risk of abuse and violence on a daily basis. The project for the integration of street children provides shelter and education within a private school, side by side with children from the highest social circles. They follow classes together, and learn with and from each other. A new society is formed, cutting through all castes.
