ICT Introduction

ICT is of vital importance for Net4kids – our website is the heart of the organisation. Thanks to the internet, Net4kids is able to provide donors with extensive services: a variety of projects or project items to sponsor, online payment and individual progress reports on a donor's own projects.

But the internet is much more than just an efficient distribution channel. The medium enables efficient and transparent business operations, and facilitates information exchange between all involved parties, including volunteers, regardless of location or time zone. Thanks to internet and intranet, Net4kids has created a ‘virtual organisation’ in which volunteers largely cooperate online, and only meet in person at organisational crossroads.

The website is the platform for gaining sponsors, and communicating with sponsors about project progress. Thanks to free use of the CRM package (Customer Relationship Management) donated by the Salesforce.com Foundation, and special modules for project information and reports, the internet should enable growth at low cost.
