Net4kidsteam: professional volunteersThe Net4kids organisation is largely supported by volunteers. Only five employees are (partly) remunerated for their services, crucial functions that require such degrees of time and commitment that strictly pro-bono work is not an option. In total Net4kids had 36 volunteers in 2007 – all of them professionals who committed varying amounts of their time to employing their specific expertise for Net4kids. The volunteers work in task-specific teams, and clear agreements are made with each volunteer regarding availability and delivery criteria in order to safeguard project progress and continuity wherever possible. The 'volunteer contracts' we draw up in order to define the input and/or output for all parties were re-examined in 2006, and updated where necessary. In 2007, this led to the separation of 'enthusiastic supporters' and 'available team members'. The permanent team now consists of team members (available on a structural level) and guest volunteers, people who take on one completed project for Net4kids each year.
