Uganda: Water reservoirs and school renovation
Kisoro County lies in the Southwest corner of Uganda, an area almost devoid of clean drinking water, where living conditions are poor. Infectious diseases like cholera wait at every turn. In the region, 125 primary schools provide education for about 64,000 children. However, the schools are nearing collapse, and the classrooms are overflowing. By building water reservoirs and renovating schools, among other things, You4Uganda is working on improving living conditions in Kisoro County.
Within this project, Net4kids provided the financial means for the renovation of the Bitare primary school and the construction of three water reservoirs at three different primary schools. However, difficulties at one specific primary school in Ngezi made placing a water reservoir too difficult. Instead, reservoirs were placed at two other locations, near the health centres in Nyamatsinda and Mburabutura.
