Sudan: Primary Health Care Units
After dozens of years of civil war in South Sudan, a peace treaty was signed in 2005. For millions of refugees, this meant a chance to return to their lands and rebuild their lives. The long war has destroyed all of the facilities in the area, including practically all medical facilities. ZOA Refugee Care is building primary health care units in Terekeka County, which will provide the required care. Net4kids’ support allowed the construction of three primary healthcare units. Unfortunately, peace has not yet returned to Sudan. ZOA Refugee Care was forced to cancel a trip due to instability in the region. The project was completed in 2007, but reporting on the progress is not yet available due to the political instability in the country.
