Nepal: Nepal Matri Griha Orphanage
Nepal has been ravaged by civil war for 12 years. Maoist rebels are fighting for a communist state and already control over half the country. The violence made many children homeless or orphans. The weakest have the least chances. The orphanage run by Nepal Matri Griha supports these weakest children: orphans and handicapped children. They had nobody to provide them with the care they require. With personal care and attention, the children are developing swiftly. Regardless of handicap.
The Nepal Matri Griha Orphanage creates a homey, safe atmosphere where the children receive personal attention and, above all, a lot of love. A great deal of attention is paid to health and hygiene. The children are taught to think about their future. What do they want to become? What do they need to do to achieve their goals? This teaches the children self-respect and assertiveness.
The Net4kids contribution covers operating costs for the entire orphanage, such as food, personnel, housing and medical care. In 2007, seventeen children were given shelter, care and medical aid for an entire year.
