Background & goal

Net4kids was founded in 1999 by Loek and Anke van den Boog, with the goal of providing less fortunate children with a better future through sustainable aid.

The underlying philosophy at Net4kids is that many donors stop giving due to a lack of transparency about where the money goes. People want to choose what they give to whom themselves – and expect feedback. Transparency is key to everything we do, and the Internet allows us to realise a personalised, involved working method at low cost.

Net4kids is an internet marketplace for child aid projects where involved donors and carefully selected child aid organisations can come together.

Via the website, donors can determine where their money goes and how it is spent. There are no anonymous contributions ending up in one big pile at Net4kids. Support for HIV/AIDS infected children in India, or ICT classes in Ghana – the donor determines which project to support, with what sum, and for how long.

But more importantly: at Net4kids the donor has the guarantee that a full 100% of donations go to the project of their choosing – without deduction of overhead costs. This is possible thanks to organisation sponsors, business and private individuals who cover daily operational costs.

In order to keep ourselves focused, we are the only charity in the Netherlands with a money back guarantee. Sadly, we cannot guarantee a child's happiness. What we promise is to make the procedures transparent in order to maximise the chances of happiness.
