Report Net4kids Continuity Fund

The goal of the Continuity Fund is safeguarding the continuity of Net4kids’ activities. On the one hand, the Continuity Fund helps safeguard the continuity of the projects we support. If a project Net4kids is committed to does not attract sufficient or even any donors, the shortfalls can be financed through the Continuity Fund. This situation has not occurred in the past year. We were able to find sufficient donors for all projects in time.

On the other hand, the Continuity Fund strives to maintain the continuity of the organisation itself. The goal is to cover the Net4kids Foundation’s organisational costs through organisation sponsors. If these costs are insufficiently covered, shortfalls are financed using the Continuity Fund, supplemented by returns on capital, or, if this is insufficient, by existing capital itself. In 2007, a contribution of € 52,894 was made to the organisation from the Continuity Fund. This sum was entirely financed with (coupon) interest on capital, so the primary capital was not affected.

The decision was made not to strive to increase the size of the Continuity Fund at this time. The current size is sufficient in relation to the projects we (plan to) support and the donor commitments. Increasing coverage of operating costs by organisation sponsors prevents further capital loss.
