Nepal: Primary School Rambra DariEvery day, 163 students walk from remote villages to their elementary school in Khoka, a small mountain village about 200 km away from the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu. After their walk, sometimes 2 hours long, they arrive at a school on the verge of collapse. During the rain season, the building is even flooded. Land and plans for a new building are already present, but the money to make these plans a reality is still lacking. And that’s where Net4kids can lend a helping hand. In part, donations are spent on salaries for the workers. The women who help out are paid the same as the men, something quite unique in Nepal. Everybody receives € 1.00 per day, five days a week. The local community offered to work for free during the other two days of the week. The rest of the donation is spent on materials for the building and the furniture. In total, six classrooms and 38 new school benches were delivered thanks to Net4kids. 163 children enjoy the benefits daily.
