Nepal: Nepal Matri Griha OrphanageSince the civil war and economic decline, the number of street children in Nepal has grown. The weakest are least likely to make it. The Nepal Matri Griha Orphanage supports these children in particular: orphans and handicapped children. They had nobody to provide the care they required. With shelter and personal attention, however, the children are thriving. Despite their handicaps. The Nepal Matri Griha Orphanage creates a homey, safe atmosphere and the children are given individual attention and – above all – love. Hygiene and health are spearheads. Additionally, the children not only receive an education, but they are also taught to think about their future. What do they want to become? What needs to be done to make it happen? The children learn self-respect and self-sufficiency. The Net4kids contribution regards coverage of operational costs for the entire orphanage, such as food, personnel, housing and medical care. In 2006, 19 children received shelter, care and education for an entire year.
* Due to a change in the contract period to fit the Nepalese fiscal year, the budget is for the transitional period. Therefore, the budget is for 18 months instead of 12. |
