The project’s most important goal is to provide children who would otherwise live on the street shelter and education. Thanks to individual care and attention, an education and interaction with other children, they are given the opportunity to develop their talents, and make something of their lives.
Net4kids supports this project through three Rainbow schools: Loreto Bowbazar and Loreto House in Calcutta, and Kushi Home in Delhi. The ‘rainbow children’, as the former street children are called, are integrated with the ‘normal’ school children.
Thanks to the 'Integration of street children’ project, the schools not only offer the rainbow children shelter and protection in a safe and stimulating environment, they also provide direction and teach self-respect. Once the children reach the age of 17, the schools give special attention to preparing them for an independent life.
